Exactly. It can be difficult to hear criticism, especially when it’s your own creative work, but it’s how we grow.

Not that we need to please everyone, but choosing NOT to take on board criticism is also a valid way to develop your work.

Maybe it’s my corporate side showing here, but I always think of how in negotiating, “you have to get to ‘no’ before you get to ‘yes’”. It’s all about pushing the boundaries – both your own, and those of your audience.
