I love baba ghanoush, and now I'm hungry!

We first tried it simply because we thought the name sounded funny to our ears (we didn't know the meaning). Then, about a year later, a friend brought a tub of store-bought baba ghanoush to a barbecue and said that he had bought it because of its funny name.

Today, I'm glad to have finally learned the meaning and possible origin of the name baba ghanoush, and I'm pleased that it's as amusing as it sounds!
