I would have felt embarrassed as well, but I am glad that, back then, people like your mum stood up to conventions that could have been causing more harm than good.

Aluminium in deodorants – I don't think we've conclusively proven that it's dangerous (?), but now that we have aluminium-free deodorant that actually works, I no longer take that risk.

If people hadn't been asking for it back then, maybe my wonderful, hopefully-less-toxic deodorant wouldn't exist today.

I'm not convinced on the magnets, though!
