This sounds like a fun way of life. I’m invested now in the story and looking forward to the next instalment, especially since it’s in Scotland (where I live).

I nearly house sat once for a colleague in a far away office. I was going to look after her cat for a couple of weeks and work at her desk during the day, meet up with people I usually worked with from afar etc, but sadly something prevented it from happening at the last minute. I always wondered what it would have been like.
